Healthy vision is essential for learning, reading, and play. We offer thoughtful, age-appropriate exams for children starting at age five. Our goal is to make your child’s experience calm, engaging, and informative.

Even if your child isn’t showing signs of a problem, we recommend their first comprehensive eye exam at age five. Some vision issues may not affect how well your child sees the board at school, but can still affect attention, reading speed, or classroom performance.
Regular visits help us catch minor issues before they grow into bigger ones, and give your child the best chance for clear, comfortable vision throughout their school years.

Children’s exams assess how well their eyes are seeing, tracking, and working together. We test for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and common conditions like amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye misalignment), and focusing difficulties.
Our doctors take the time to explain what they’re seeing in a way that’s easy to understand, and we work closely with parents to answer questions and guide next steps when needed.
We know that the exam experience matters just as much as the results. Our pediatric appointments are relaxed and designed to help children feel safe and at ease. Most kids leave smiling, and many are excited to pick out their first pair of glasses if needed.
If your child is nervous or shy, let us know. We will meet them right where they are.

If your child is nearsighted, we offer options to slow the progression of myopia. Hazel Family Eyecare provides FDA-approved treatments like MiSight® daily contacts, NaturalVue lenses, and low-dose atropine therapy to help preserve long-term eye health.
Our team will walk you through each option and help you choose what’s best for your child’s vision, comfort, and lifestyle.
Whether it’s their first appointment or part of an ongoing care plan, we’ll make sure your child feels comfortable and cared for. We’re proud to support families across Roswell, East Cobb, and Sandy Springs with pediatric vision care that’s clear, gentle, and easy to understand.
