Dr. Tara Fowler is a Georgia native with a lifelong commitment to patient care, prevention, and wellness. Raised in West Cobb, she began her path in healthcare through the study of nutrition, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science with cum laude honors from the University of Georgia. That foundation in whole-person health ultimately led her to the field of optometry, where she could combine clinical care with meaningful, ongoing patient relationships.
She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree magna cum laude from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where she also participated in international outreach, delivering eye exams and glasses to underserved communities in Peru and Ecuador. Following graduation, she completed a residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, gaining advanced experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and co-management of complex eye conditions.
For over 15 years, Dr. Fowler has provided comprehensive care in private practice settings, with a clinical focus that includes dry eye disease, ocular infections, trauma, computer vision syndrome, and specialty contact lenses. She believes great care begins with listening — and that patients deserve time, clarity, and practical guidance they can trust.
Outside the office, Dr. Fowler enjoys hiking, yoga, cooking, and time outdoors with her two active sons. She lives in the Roswell area and is proud to serve the community she calls home. At Hazel Family Eyecare, she brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to every exam, combining clinical expertise with the personal connection that defines the practice.
